Our LGBT+ company network: Proud Heroes
Delivery Hero’s Proud Heroes began as a Workplace Group where 120 members from our offices around the world published LGBTQ related updates and shared information about local events and happenings in their communities.
In October 2019 an official LGBTQ committee of 20 grew from this Workplace group, with a core team of 6 focused on raising awareness and creating events for and with our Delivery Hero LGBTQ community and their allies. The committee meets once a month to discuss LGBTQ oriented topics and plan LGBTQ oriented events.
In line with one of Delivery Hero’s core values, “We are heroes because we care”, our LGBTQ community volunteered for the LSVD Berlin NGO, helping them with sending leaflets to their members during our annual “Hero Month” this past October.
We also assisted the Prout@Work NGO with translating their documents from German to English.
As our community grows and becomes more solidified we are planning to work with Workplace Pride to help us align our community with the DH business. Some of our members participate in Uhlala Pride Breakfasts and Queer Croissant as well as other networking opportunities in Berlin. Once a month we have an unofficial social event for our LGBT community as a part of DH Happy Fridays.
We are also planning awareness raising events at our offices for International Coming Out Day on the 11th of October. As a fairly young community we are cooperating with external organizations like Uhlala which is currently auditing how Delivery Hero is dealing with LGBTQ standards.
On the 26th of November we will host Prout@Work’s ToGathering Conference, From Zero to Hero at our offices in Berlin. External companies will also be invited to join us for this event.
