At Danaher we believe that Inclusion creates a work environment that is open-minded and respectful without judgment. At Danaher, we want all our associates to maintain a culture that respects and appreciates individuality.

That’s why Danaher launched 2019 the following five Associate Resource Groups (ARGs) to help further strengthen inclusion within our culture: Women+Friends ARG; African+Friends ARG; Latinx+ Friends ARG; Asian Descent and Friends ARG and LGBTQ+Friends ARG. These ARGs will prov​​​​​ide sponsored network​​​​s for associates, to come together, share and learn with each other. By building and maintaining a culture rooted in inclusive values, we maximize the unique perspectives and fresh ideas available to drive our innovation, fuel our growth, and ensure our technologies. June 14th host the first National Meeting of Danaher’s LGBTQ + Friends ARG this in Washington, DC. The National Meeting will serve as an opportunity for networking, community building, storytelling, and learning.

What means a Friend to the LGBTQ community? Someone who identifies as a heterosexual and/or cisgender person, supports equal civil rights, gender equality, and LGBTQ social movements, and actively challenges homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia. The LGBTQ + Friends ARG Steering Committee partnered with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the foremost advocacy group for the LGBTQ community, to deliver content intended to inform leaders about issues specific to the LGBTQ community. In 2020, we will work to expand the reach of such content but also to Transgender Day of Visibility, the importance and proper use of Preferred Pronouns, and the significance of National Coming out day. Over the next 3 years we will focus on 5 key winning dimensions: Authenticity; Accountability/Transparency; Community; Visible Achievement and Equality. Our Shared Purpose and mission within this group is it to create the most Inclusive Workplace and cultivating an environment where the LGBTQ community can belong as their authentic selves and realize their potential.

We work together with Several Partners in Diversity like ROMBA (Reaching Out MBA) In 1998 students from Harvard Business School & Yale School of Management saw a missing space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender & queer business students and worked together to create a student-run conference for our community, which today is known as the ROMBA Conference.  That first conference was attend by less than 100 students from about 6 schools.Two decades later that conference has grown to an 1,800 person annual event and Reaching Out has become a year-round operating nonprofit organization with over a dozen unique programs dedicated to educating, inspiring, and connecting the LGBTQ MBA community to impact change in the workplace and create the next generation of our leaders.
