With the SXS Student Summit, we’re launching a new format: Unlike our other events, this is not a career fair, but a conference and networking event targeted at LGBTIQ+ undergraduates, cis & straight allies, queer representatives and student departments. The Student Summit takes place on February 4, 2022, as a one-day online event.
With this event we want to push diversity and queerness at universities in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland): with various networking opportunities and inspiring speakers!
Thus, we’re looking for your input: What do you want to share with the academic LGBTIQ+ community? How can we make higher education even more queer-friendly? What’s going well and what needs to change?
Since we cannot foresee the pandemic situation in February, the event will take place online. With a notebook or tablet, you can participate as a speaker. The presentation slots have a length of 30 minutes maximum – including questions from your audience.
We’re looking for talks that entertain, educate, or inspire. The speakers programme is aimed at an academic audience, that is potential topics include:‘
• Practical tips for queers in everyday university life
• Connecting with LGBTIQ+ groups, queer departments, and student councils
• Diversity on campus and in the curriculum
• Student rights
• Personal stories from queer academics
• Queerphobia in lectures
• Housing for queer students
• Research topics on diversity, sexuality, gender identity, and so on.
We’re eager to hear your ideas!
For the chance to perform on our digital live stage! Multiply your message!
In addition, we will publish your speaker profile on our website and promote your talk via our social media accounts. We also publish the most popular online presentations in our media library on Proudr.
Are you interested in joining us? Then we look forward to your submission and will get back to you as soon as possible! 🦏 🏳️🌈
