STICKS & STONES launched its first edition of the Student Summit on the 4th of February 2022. Throughout the day, the conference focused on various aspects of being LGBTIQ+ within a University environment. The program was packed with informative and inspirational talks, practical and insightful workshops, and plenty of opportunities to network and learn from one another. The Student Summit was the one-stop event for LGBTIQ+ students and their allies!
POST-EVENT RESOURCES
We’ve amassed a variety of resources for students to use post-Student Summit. The intention with these resources is to provide you with a starting point for a range of different topics – from inclusive language to coming out to professors.
Also, you will soon have access to the recordings of talks* which took place during the Student Summit.

TALKS & PANELS
From experiencing discrimination in the lecture hall to finding housing, from starting a career to integrating LGBTIQ+ diversity on campus. Bringing more diversity, inclusion and pride throughout your University can be challenging. So, we brought together a group of knowledgeable, insightful and compassionate speakers to deliver talks and panels on the most relevant topics for LGBTIQ+ students today.
ONLINE
The Student Summit was open to all students who had access to a computer/phone and functioning WiFi. We had students, LGBTIQ+ role models and experts tuning in from over 15 different countries.
QUEER STUDENT NETWORKS
Visitors were able to network during the Student Summit with representatives of queer student groups from all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland!
ALLYSHIP & SAFE SPACES
Allies were welcomed to the Student Summit, whether as visitors or speakers. Allyship and safe spaces were discussed in a dynamic panel where panellists offered enriching and diverse perspectives.
NETWORKING
Visitors had the opportuntity to connect and exchange with one another through our networking feature!
LGBTIQ+ CAMPUS INDEX
On the 1st of June '21, we released the first Campus Index, which assessed the LGBTIQ+ engagement of universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We offered insights on LGBTIQ+ diversity management at universities, and offered suggestions on how to apply the results of the LGBTIQ+ Campus Index to your life. This inspired us to lauch
