Lead Knowledge Analyst – Power Generation & Power Markets Düsseldorf, Germany Role Summary We are seeking a strong candidate with experience in power generation and power markets to fill a Lead Knowledge Analyst position in Düsseldorf within our Energy Practice Area. The Analyst will support the Energy Practice providing analytical support while assisting consulting staff with industry specific problems and managing research requests. The analyst would have specific know-how in power generation, with specific knowledge in power markets, with strong analytics skills and sound judgment about the utility sector. The candidate will, in particular, master the English language at a nearly native English speaker level, both orally and written. The candidate would play a local and international expert role supporting the national and international power generation and trading case teams. Responsibilities Work with consulting teams in a leading role Providing customized knowledge for client work, occasionally providing client-facing expertise Acting as a thought partner, establishing credibility with case teams, and providing problem-solving and topic/sector insights Scoping knowledge needs of case teams and communicating with KT and/or our research team to address them Capturing, codifying, and maintaining knowledge content Work with topic/sector teams in a leading role Collaborating with these teams and developing new knowledge by participating in business development and knowledge infrastructure projects, maintaining and developing databases, carrying out surveys, etc. Controlling quality and supervising contributions/updates to the existing topic/sector knowledge base Promoting innovation at BCG by identifying knowledge capture opportunities Contributing to building sector/topics/teams and suggesting emerging topics/sectors based on client demand Manage projects Managing KTers on projects with case teams, ensuring execution, and being responsible for overall quality Leading communication and managing workflow to ensure case team satisfaction Reviewing and assessing the relevancy of documents in existing topic-/sector-related knowledge base Lead KT teams on a project basis Advising, sharing knowledge, and training junior knowledge team members Designing the onboarding schedule and providing day-to-day training and coaching for KT staff under the guidance of a Knowledge Expert and/or Knowledge Business Manager Involved in the recruiting process of Knowledge Analysts and Senior Knowledge Analysts for the PA where needed   Desired Qualifications Education and Experience Advanced degree with high academic achievement in the area of engineering, economics or similar; 5-8 years of experience with specific industry experience in the utility sector or 3-5 years of relevant consulting experience Key Competencies Strong work ethic & service-mentality Developing expertise in the affiliated PA Strong codification & development of knowledge Starting to grow an industry network Ability to provide analytical advice Ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization Solid knowledge in a topic/sector domain Solid analytical skills Excellent written & verbal communication in both German and English Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to manage multiple parallel tasks Strong interpersonal, credibility Collaborative, team player Ability to maintain discretion when needed Technical and economic knowledge in the power sector Self-motivated to grow as an industry expert Application Procedure: If you are interested in applying for this position, please use the following link to apply using our careers page CLICK HERE Please note that this position is not restricted solely to the responsibilities listed above and that the job scope and responsibilities are subject to change.
