We’ll explore the challenges faced by individuals who feel compelled to hide their authentic selves, the toll it takes on their mental health, and the broader impact on workplace dynamics and productivity. Through a combination of research, personal stories, and practical strategies, we aim to shed light on this critical issue and inspire action towards creating more inclusive and supportive work environments.

Rae Coffman is queer, disabled, and disrupting employee experience in tech. With over 10 years of experience in progressive people initiatives, they transform companies‘ culture through a range of programs all with a strong foundation of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Currently, they work as Director of Employee Experience at Actian. Rae is committed to enhancing company culture and enabling employee success. In addition to their work at Actian, Rae serves on the advisory boards for Lesbians Who Tech and the Transformative Leadership Program at California State University, East Bay.
