For over a decade, STICKS & STONES has been the leading career fair for the LGBTIQ+ community – and for everyone who celebrates diversity. Over 100,000 people have already taken part. The event offers you a platform for networking, learning and inspiration – in an appreciative and queer environment.
After booking your STICKS & STONES ticket, you will automatically receive a discount link to the Deutsche Bahn train tickets! The DB event tickets include a ‘City Ticket’ for a connecting journey by public transport from the arrival station in Cologne to the event venue.
You can find all information about travelling to the event on our website.
Absolutely! Straight people, allies and friends of the community are also very welcome. In addition to queer topics, you will get inspiration and tips for your career. By taking part, you are also supporting the LGBTIQ+ community.
Queer-friendly means that a space, event or company is respectful and supportive of people from the LGBTIQ+ community. It’s about visibility, acceptance and actively promoting a diverse and inclusive environment.
Only take photos on site if everyone in the picture agrees.
It is best to bring your application documents with you: CV, application folders, letter of motivation or an application flyer. There is also no reason why you should not provide your LinkedIn profile or other similar professional social media accounts. Some companies offer CV checks. You will find these highlighted on the map.
Since this topic often leads to misunderstandings and many people are unsure whether they should bring a printed copy of their resume with them or not: It is completely acceptable under data protection law for exhibitors to accept a printed resume on site and review it with you in order to provide feedback. As long as the document is not retained afterwards, there are no obligations associated with permanent data processing (data protection information, consent, storage and deletion obligations, etc.). Ideally, you should bring both a printed and a digital version of your CV with you.
Take a look at our exhibitors and think about who is relevant to you. Visit your favourites directly on site, or take part in our Talent Pool to get the chance for a one-on-one interview with the exhibitors. Think about questions or topics you would like to discuss and write them down. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about diversity.
Most programme items operate on a first come, first served basis. Just drop by, but don’t be late! For coaching and networking sessions, you can register directly on site.
The STICKS & STONES Talent Pool is your shortcut to the next step in your career, without having to send out hundreds of applications. Take a few minutes to answer 10 questions about your job preferences, link your CV and get discovered by exciting employers. They may contact you by email to invite you to an interview – on site, via video call or directly at the company.

Yes, if you observe or experience an inappropriate situation and would like support in dealing with it, please contact the local STICKS & STONES awareness team.
We have a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination of any kind. Visitors to STICKS & STONES should feel comfortable, regardless of age, ethnic origin and nationality, gender and gender identity, physical and mental abilities, religion and ideology, sexual orientation and social background
We strive to create an inclusive atmosphere. Where possible, we take noise levels, music and sensory overload into consideration. From 10 a.m. to 12 noon, we observe quiet hours. No music is played on site and the lights are dimmed.
These sensory adjustments enable those who are sensitive to their environment to enjoy the fair in a more appropriate and pleasant setting.
All-gender toilets are toilet facilities for everyone, regardless of sex or gender! All-gender toilets have both sitting and standing toilets. The binary division of toilet facilities puts pressure on people to conform to one of these designations. In order to avoid and permanently overcome this type of coercion and discrimination, the principle of all-gender toilets is intended to create a space in which there is no division into gender identities and roles.
In addition to the all-gender toilets, there are women’s, inter, non-binary and trans* toilets. The toilet facilities are intended to offer a place of refuge from general and acute sexualised violence, as well as to raise awareness of gender and gender identity issues. In addition, they ensure visibility for people who are affected by discrimination based on socially established gender norms. In the long term, this will lead to greater acceptance.
There is also a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
A drinks bar and a snack bar with vegetarian and vegan options await you on site. You can pay with cash or card at both bars.
Here you can find out more about the food and drinks on offer.
Yes, there is a cloakroom. It costs €2 to use – details can be found on the map or on site.
Small bags are permitted, but large or bulky items are not. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to bring your own food and drink – exceptions only apply with a doctor’s certificate or for catering for babies. Glass bottles, cans, weapons, pyrotechnics and dangerous objects are generally prohibited.
Business look? Not with us! Our motto: Come as you are. We want you to feel comfortable and be yourself, because that’s the only way to come across as authentic.
No, unfortunately dogs and other furry friends are not permitted. Assistance dogs are exempt from this rule.
