Become a volunteer at SXS24 in Berlin

STICKS & STONES would not be the same without its many volunteers. Every year, our volunteers ensure that the event is unique and, above all, runs smoothly. For STICKS & STONES in Berlin, we are looking for motivated, friendly and, above all, reliable people to support us in various areas (see below).

The maximum working time is 8 hours per day (excluding breaks). In addition to a look behind the scenes of our LGBTIQ+ job and career festival, you will receive free catering.

As soon as you have completed this form and we confirm your commitment as a volunteer at STICKS & STONES 2024, we will invite you to a joint briefing call with all volunteers. This is an initial introductory meeting with everyone involved, in which we will provide you with all the important information about your shift, working hours and locations.

We need your help in the following areas:

The registration and reception team is the first face that visitors see when they arrive. You are professional, welcoming and calm. You will be responsible for registering guests and distributing goodie bags and pronoun stickers.

You will need good communication skills for this role, best suited to people who speak German and English, who are open-minded, tech-savvy, can solve problems quickly and remain calm under pressure.

The registration and reception team ensures that the registration of visitors in the networking or coaching area runs smoothly. You are open-minded, professional, welcoming and calm. You are responsible for registering guests and informing visitors about registration and the respective programme.
This role is best suited to people who speak German and English, are familiar with technology, can solve problems quickly and remain calm under pressure.

As a Market Researcher, you will actively approach visitors during STICKS & STONES and ask them to fill out a feedback form on a tablet. We will provide you with the tablet.

The feedback is important for the further development and improvement of our job and career festival. The amount of data collected depends heavily on your commitment and attitude to the task.
This role is best suited to people who speak German and English, are sociable, are not afraid to actively approach people and enjoy communicating with people. You should have good stamina and be physically fit, as you will be on your feet all day in various areas of the STICKS & STONES.

Spontaneity and flexibility are the most important prerequisites for the position as a runner. You are an adaptable, quick learner, physically fit, who can easily slip into any role and provide support. You support us with everything that comes up and help out where there is a need.

You will not only cover the breaks of the rest of the team, but also directly support the STICKS & STONES organisation team.

This is an interesting task for anyone who would like to take a look behind the scenes of an event and gain a good insight into the processes and requirements of a job and career festival.

As a dismantling helper, you will be part of a team of hard-working, physically fit and nimble employees who dismantle all the physical elements at STICKS & STONES. Your tasks will include, for example, actively supporting us in dismantling the exhibitor stands and removing signage and marketing material from the entire venue. You will need sturdy, closed shoes and clothing that can get dirty.
