Every year, our volunteers make sure the event is not only unique but also runs smoothly. For STICKS & STONES in Berlin on June 21, we’re looking for motivated, friendly, and above all reliable people to support us in various areas (see below).
You’ll be volunteering for up to 10 hours, including a 1-hour break. In addition of the possibility to take a look behind the scenes of our LGBTIQ+ job and career festival, you will receive free catering including a vegan option and free admission to the Beach Sundowner on the bathing boat.

As soon as you have completed this form and we confirm your commitment as a volunteer at STICKS & STONES 2025, we will invite you to a joint briefing call with all volunteers. This is an initial introductory meeting with everyone involved, in which we will provide you with all the important information about your shift, working hours and locations.

At the backstage registration, you’re the link between the organizing team, speakers, and performers. You welcome invited guests like speakers, artists, or crew members, check access permissions, provide information, and ensure everyone knows where to go. Your calm and professional manner helps you stay in control – even when things get a little hectic
You’ll approach visitors directly and ask them to fill out a short feedback form on a tablet – which we will provide.
This feedback is essential for the continued development and improvement of our job and career festival. The number of responses gathered will depend heavily on your initiative and motivation.
This role is best suited for people who speak both German and English, are outgoing, enjoy approaching others, and love engaging in conversation. You should have good stamina and be physically fit, as you’ll be on your feet and moving around the STICKS & STONES venue all day.
With a counter, you can track how many guests are on the UHLALA Lounge mezzanine. This ensures that the maximum number of people is not exceeded and that access remains orderly and safe.
In the UHLALA Lounge, you make sure our exhibitors are well taken care of. Using one of the two fully automatic coffee machines, you prepare and serve drinks – but only what is actually ordered. With your friendly manner, you contribute to a welcoming vibe and a smooth process.
Spontaneity and flexibility are the most important prerequisites for the position as a runner. You are an adaptable, quick learner, physically fit, who can easily slip into any role and provide support. You support us with everything that comes up and help out where there is a need.
You will not only cover the breaks of the rest of the team, but also directly support the STICKS & STONES organisation team.
This is an interesting task for anyone who would like to take a look behind the scenes of an event and gain a good insight into the processes and requirements of a job and career festival.
As a dismantling helper, you will be part of a team of hard-working, physically fit and nimble employees who dismantle all the physical elements at STICKS & STONES. Your tasks will include, for example, actively supporting us in dismantling the exhibitor stands and removing signage and marketing material from the entire venue. You will need sturdy, closed shoes and clothing that can get dirty.
By handing out colorful goodie bags near the entrance, you give a warm welcome to the festival visitors. In doing so, you help to create a positive and cheerful atmosphere in which everyone feels comfortable. A welcoming, open and friendly manner is essential for this job, as you are one of the first points of contact for the guests.
